About RJA
Restorative Justice Aotearoa is a professional association representing the steadily growing number of New Zealand providers of restorative justice services. RJA was Incorporated in 2005 after a consultation process with groups providing restorative justice.
On 21st September 2007 RJA was registered with the Charities Commission. CC11179

RJA provides the following services to Members
Regular updates and provides information from the Executive to the member groups via the 'Executive Express'
Represents member groups interests to key decision makers as required.
Proactively represents issues of restorative justice to government policy makers and in the media on behalf of member agencies.
Co-ordinates the development of resources for member group
Organises and facilitates the AGM and regular RJ conferences
Co-ordinates an annual Hui Maaori and periodic Managers Forums
Liaises with and responds to the media
Informs and educates the public about restorative justice and promote its use
Provides or identifies appropriate training resources
Supports the development of existing and new provider groups
Provides a complaints process for complaints about a groups complaints procedures
Provides an opportunity for individual practitioners to liaise with each other through a web based bulletin board

Individuals can claim a rebate for Income Tax purposes for cash donations of $5 or more made to RJA. At the end of the tax year a rebate is available for all donations up to the equivalent of one year's income.
